I love love love the bird one. I think its really a great choice to mimic your aesthetic and I think the arrangement of the type next to the bird really works. Use that as your final woman! lates :)
first, there should be THREE versions here, not two...
having said that, the bird one is far stronger. strong concept that totally matches the typeface.
notes:
- though they more or less match with the aesthetic of the piece, the striping on the sides are kind of a cop-out for space... if you have to use them as a framing device try making the framed image in the center a better shape (i.e. a square). also, the stripe colors could be slightly more sinister.
- the typeface letters seem arbitrarily crammed behind the bird's back. try breaking the lines of letters up and filling up that whole space behind the bird.
- the bird is kind of dominating the typeface at the moment. i'd love to see how this would look with just one of those letters blown up huge behind the bird's head, perhaps in a color besides black. maybe the first letter of the name of the bird and the bird's name smaller right below it? (this would refer back to your earlier idea for the wallpaper).
- move the descr. paragraph up a little bit and increase the font size a little bit
- lastly, what's up with the huge quotation marks???
