for those who weren't in class, we still need to see your final type specimen wallpapers...
your homework this week is simple.
1. choose an album of music you want to design packaging for. it does not have to be something you like, only something you think would be interesting to work with.
2. pick a single symbolic thing to represent the feeling of this album. it can be an object, an idea, an emotion, etc. find at least 20 different ways of representing this ONE symbolic thing, and bring them to class in whatever format you like. be creative and explore the possibilities for representation... do NOT use words. some suggestions:
a photograph
a drawing
a painting
part of the thing
all of the thing
different views of the thing
an icon of the thing
the thing's color
the effects of the thing
a child's understanding of the thing
an actual object
an abstraction

is it ok to use technology as a "symbol"
im a little confused. Are we supposed to chose one object to represent a concept that represents the album? Or chose one concept and different objects? I have an idea so im just gonna run with it i guess.
